Document the Outside, Inside & Contents of Your Home

Photos Are Essential | Pictures = Proof!

Experiencing a flood can be overwhelming, and we want you to know that you’re not alone in this. Taking detailed photos and videos of the damage inside and outside your home, as well as your belongings, can make a big difference when it comes time to file a flood insurance claim. This documentation will help ensure that the claims process goes as smoothly as possible and that you receive the compensation you deserve.

OUTSIDE

  • Street view of front of house.

  • ALL sides of house with foundation.

  • Waterline mark clearly defining height.

INSIDE

  • All walls in EACH ROOM.

  • Ceiling and floor in EACH ROOM.

  • Waterline mark in EACH ROOM.

CONTENTS

  • Take as many pictures/video needed of every piece of personal property you are throwing away.

  • Inside cabinets and drawers.

  • Front and back of all appliances and electronic items WITH model and serial numbers.

SAMPLES

IF SAFE, keep SAMPLES of the following:

  • Carpet and floor coverings.

  • Base trim, crown molding, chair-rail trim.

  • ANY custom, unusual, or high-end materials.
